Make Events | Full Service Event Management Manchester | Self Love Summit

Wellness isn’t an initiative, or a buzz word, it is an active process of making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. Therefore, in the workplace it is about creating a culture and environment where your employees feel comfortable and can thrive.

After minor illnesses such as colds, stress is the highest cause of workplace absence (The Telegraph, 2017), which is why now more than ever companies should be incorporating wellness into their internal communications stratergy to ensure their team are happy and are working to the best of their ability.

Make Events are well versed at integrating wellness into both our workplace and events and after producing Mel Wells’ Self Love Summit in July.

Incorporating wellness into your conference doesn’t mean daily group meditation sessions , or eating your body weight in granola, its just small steps to help improve your work environment.

Here are a few ways we have incorporated wellness into employee conferences.

High energy activities
High energy activities after breaks or lunch work well to get everyone moving around and engaging. There is often a lull once delegates have eaten so this helps to get the energy back up.

We have previously facilitated School of Strut and Disco Yoga at events and they both work well at getting everyone up on their feet and moving.

These work outside and inside, plus are great team building activities!

Breakout rooms
Conferences can be long, and chaining your delegates to their seats for 4+ hours at a time will leave them feeling lethargic and uninterested. Breakout areas are important for your delegates to reside in to reflect or to take 5 minutes.

Fruit infused water bottles
Promote hydration, sustainability, and company pride all in one by gifting your team branded reusable fruit infusion bottles. This is also a more relevant takeaway than a standard pen or USB stick.

Set up fruit stations for your delegates to fill up before the first session of the day. We incorporated these into a conference we produced for Kellogg’s.

Goal setting
Top-level athletes, successful business people and achievers in all fields all set goals. Setting goals gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation.

Ask your delegates to discuss their goals and set targets, so that this translates into the office on Monday morning and into the future.

Motivational Speakers
Conference speakers depends on the target audience. Below are a few motivational speakers who we love…

Shannon Kaiser
Fearne Cotton
Julie Montague
Mel Wells
Katie Piper
